Milam is a phenomenal talent, and will go down as the 2nd best SS in LSU history (if not 1b). However there have been many times where he has seemed to show a lack of awareness or effort that is just flat out strange for a player of his caliber on a CJJ team.

Multiple times last year and in the CWS he didn’t run out fly balls that were dropped and would’ve been stand up doubles, and tonight was one of the most absurd base running blunders I’ve seen in a long time.

Anyway, it’s a Tuesday game not even a quarter of the way into the season so tonight doesn’t matter at all in the grand scheme (other than the walks).

The foul ball hit behind him? How could he have done anything different?

Are you talking about the foul? I'm sure he was half-assing that because everyone except the ump could clearly see that was foul. You could even see it clearly on the TV angle and it wasn't even close. Like they didn't even need to replay that for me to know it was foul. I'm not going to put that on him. The ump was beyond blind as hell on that play. How can you call him out on that blunder from the umps?

he was hurt at the end of last year. And tonight what was he supposed to do in that situation. The first baseman stepped on first to force out Yorke, and Milam was dead to rights at second.

maybe he was talking about on the serna hit that was actually an error. not sure if milam was on base and or could have got an extra base out of it?

Not sure why y'all are confused. If he just runs hard and slides into 2B he's going to be safe. Instead he stopped running becasue he was playing umpire and assumed the ball was foul.

No I’m talking about a play in game 2 of the finals against CC. Ball landed in no mans land and he’s rounding 1st.

Again, just weird for a guy who knows he’s being heavily scouted for a high round pick.

Name another besides Bregman who has a better resume starting as a freshman.

This. I’m not sure why you’d ever look behind on a ground ball hit to the first baseman.

no he wasn't going to be safe. Go watch the replay.

This thread is such a reach just looking for something else to be mad about

I like Milam as much as anyone, but it’s clear you just started watching LSU baseball.

Jason Williams would be the 2nd best SS in history if you’re talking about a career.

Can confirm Milam is a pothead, he was a lot better when he wasn’t trying to hit a home run every swing

Not sure why OP got so many downvotes. His post
Is 100% right. I love Milam but he definitely can half arse it when he wants to.

With that said I wouldn’t trade it for his talent and cocky/confident attitude.
