Official cost of living increase for 2025 is 12% lower than 2024. In south texas, the only negative I see is cost of rib eyes. Lots of positives with gas, insurance property taxes, social security tax reduction, prescriptions etc. Trump could hit the price of pick up trucks hard by eliminating stupid enviormental, safety s-ht. As a red state things look better than the year before.

The national cost of living might be a blue state issue?

Same state with no noticeable difference from 2024.

Mortgage rates coming down a bit may help things but it was a negligible drop and houses are still sitting for 4-5-6 months.

Hope for some good news tonight. Neighbor owns the largest private security company and he said his costs have skyrocketed and he is trimming 100 employees shortly.

Food costs have been steadily climbing pretty consistently (aggregate, all groceries/food across the country).

That's part of the problem.

Need a much bigger cut than 12% for people to not complain about it

2.6 % increase is about half of the average increase during the Biden time

Here's a nominal growth comparison.
