Is Alex Box generally open to public during business hours?

I took my fam down to LA for the first time (for me) in 15+ years for a buddies wedding celebration thing. We went to campus on Tuesday so the kids could see Mike and the stadium etc etc. Great day for it. I didn't realize class would be out but it makes sense. We grabbed some lunch at "Torchys Tacos" and were planning on heading home after but I wanted to drive by Alex Box just because I've NEVER been. There were a bunch of vehicles in the lot. And one of the gates was open. So we went inside. Realized that all of the cars were players/coaches as there were several people going in and out of the training facility right there.
Several players were throwing around on the field. We sat at some of the field level seats since no one was there and just hung out. Brayden Simpson walked by and asked how we were doing. We asked if they were about to start practicing and he said they were just there voluntarily playing around.. Saw Stanny running around. Omar Serna Jr. was the only other one I was able to identify. But there were two pitchers and one other guy (besides Serna) catching.
Very cool experience that I wasn't expecting to have.. So just wondering if they typically leave it open? I think it's pretty awesome if they do but I could see how it could be a distraction..

I was shocked the general access I’ve had to Alex box. It seems to be open for sure on football game days.
Hell at the university of Maryland in 2011 my buddies and I went out there every day during a college summer program and played ball for hours over the course of 3 weeks. Not ONCE did someone come kick us off the field.

I drove by one time and really had to go to the bathroom and when I saw multiple gates open I ran in to use one, and when I exited the bathroom I had a campus office waiting on me, who wasn’t all that happy I was there
