SEC:
Darius Acuff Jr.
Arkansas - PG

Leader in scoring and assists in conference play
22.3 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game
50% FG, 44% 3PT

Big Ten:
Keaton Wagler
Illinois - G

15.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game
46.4% FG and FT 80.0%

Big 12:
AJ Dybantsa

B12 Frontrunner with Toppin out.
22+ PPG, nightly double-double threat.
53.6% FG and 35.9% 3PT

He has a twin that’s also on Duke’s team. Not identical and different sizes and abilities.

The NBA has been talking about how great this freshman class is for awhile, so freshmen being the best players in so many conferences should not be too much of a surprise. This class is so good that NBA teams are getting fined for tanking games.

Should we wonder about whether NIL money is helping the kids have a more positive mindset, that is helping them cope with having to be in college for a freshman year? I think it's a possibility, but it could just be the quality of the class.

These freshmen have made college basketball fun to watch this year. We can only hope this trend continues. Watching kids in college used to lead to more fans watching the NBA. Would love to see more people caring about the NBA again.
