Dinner Rush

2000

you have to sign in to your google account

Dinner Rush is a 2000 American independent feature film, written by Brian S. Kalata and Rick Shaughnessy, and directed by Bob Giraldi. It stars Danny Aiello as a restaurateur-bookmaker in New York City's Tribeca neighborhood and Edoardo Ballerini as his son, the restaurant's star chef.

The film deals with converging pressures from the son and his gambling sous-chef who work in the kitchen, as well as organized crime. Aside from one sequence before the opening credits, it adheres to two of the three classical unities: time and space. All of the events after the opening credits occur during one evening at the restaurant or just outside.

Just rewatched that last week while sipping soup with the flu. Very neat little film. Really enjoy the restaurant kitchen scenes, even though that's not the point. Makes you hungry, though.

Just finished, what a great movie. Thank you for sharing. I had never heard of this.

To the other guy asking where to watch, it's free on YouTube. I have YouTube premium so no ads, your version might have ads (or not be available at all)

It's a restaurant drama encapsulated inside of a New York Mafia drama.

As a former restaurant employee, and fan of Mafia movies, I'm shocked I had never heard of or seen this.

It's great.

Why would you sip soup that has the flu?

I'm curious why I'm being downvoted.

Dinner Rush is a fine film. Has a nice twist at the end. And Mark Margolis(Salamanca) plays a snobbish art critic…

My wife didn't like it.

I thought it was good. A lot of quality actors throughout. The ending kind of saved the movie for me.
