Hard to believe it’s been that long.

He left an incredible legacy. Even 25 years later, his presence is there at every track on every race weekend. People are still repping Dale Earnhardt gear when they go to a race. He left a void that could never be filled. NASCAR misses him and has never entirely recovered from his death. All of that shows how special he truly was and still is.

I feel for what Kenny Schrader saw when he looked into that car.

I weep for what NASCAR used to be. I live an hour from Darlington and the buzz over the races is a fraction of what it used to be.

Yup. Poor man had that imprinted on his mind for his mortal eternity.

Seeing a very close friend in that kind of shape is something I’d wish on nobody.

I think deep down Kenny knew immediately that he was probably gone when he saw it.

They dug their own grave sadly.

One of the worst years on my life.

Dale in February

March I was getting ready to head to the shop to put the finishing touches on my best friends modified when I got the call he had been in an accident.

He died a few days later.
