Rabbit hunt
St James Parish
60 degrees, cloudy and windy
Beretta A400, light modified with 7.5 lead
Joining in on a rabbit hunt today with a co-worker at his lease. Just bullshittin around waiting on the guy with the beagle pack to show up (scheduled for 7ish). Jambalaya later today, hopefully with fresh rabbit!

Hearing some chases but only heard 2 quick shots so far. Sitting on a log enjoying a little Debbie cosmic brownie right now. A doe and yearling past by me earlier looking to get the hell outta here.

The beagles are calling it a day. We ended up with 4 rabbits and saw twice as many deer. Headed to the camp to start on this rabbit and Veron’s sausage jambalaya.

Last one. I’ve been making some sits all week at my buddy’s place in st Gabriel. He owns a small tract of land that he gave me permission to hunt. A few mornings ago I took a shot at a very small 8, just trying to get some meat for the freezer. I thought he was at 35 yards, but ended up being about 40, and missed a couple inches low.
This is my 70th day in the woods, 112th sit. Saw a good bit of smaller bucks that I passed on during the rifle season, and a couple of good bucks during bow season that were just out of range. I had some great days in the woods, and made some new friends, so overall I can’t complain. Got the boat charging up, ready to get after the bass, but I’ll be thinking about October for the next 7 months
