India arrests 11 for issuing up to 1 mil fake university degrees for intl jobs

Kerala police in December 2025 arrested 11 individuals in Malappuram for operating a fake degree racket, seizing over 100,000 with estimates of over 1,000,000 forged university degree certificates were used to secure jobs overseas from 22-28 universities in fields like medicine, nursing, and engineering, many used for overseas jobs and visas.
Many were used for domestic jobs, passports, or overseas employment/visas in general—primarily highlighted in the Middle East, Europe, UK, and especially Australia
