How many points does an eligible Chambliss move the spread?

LSU plays Ole Miss in Oxford in September. No coach moves the media needle anymore than Kiffin. With all the drama surrounding Kiffin leaving the rebels, everyone will be watching. It will be a prime time game.

That makes the ncaa decision of whether Chambliss gets another season a huge decision with potential playoff implications. Chambliss is their Burrow. How good would LSU have been without Burrow?

It’s kinda win/win for me, I guess. The game gets way more exciting to watch if Chambliss is playing and LSU gets more credit for beating Ole Miss with their star qb playing. If he gets eligible, so be it. Sounds fun to watch to me.

If Chambliss is not eligible, I’m cool with that too. I don’t care how the ncaa rules, its not my circus, not my monkeys. If Ole Miss loses Chambliss, LSU chances go up, so be it. Ole Miss should have planned better.

I think given how good Chambliss is combined with his familiarity with the offense, that he makes as much as a 6 to 7 point move in the spread.

Too many points? Too few? Stupid topic? I was just trying to make the point that the decision on Chambliss’s eligibility is of great relevance to LSU.

I think Chambliss has near zero chance with the ncaa now, they are not budging. I did read somewhere that an ncaa decision might be appealable to the Mississippi Supreme Court. As a general rule, one’s chances of getting a Supreme Court of any state to overturn an administrative decision are very low.

But this is not a general rule. You could have the elected Supreme Court of Mississippi ruling on the eligibility of a star Ole Miss player. That could even the playing field if it’s true that Ole Miss will have some right to appeal to the Miss Supreme Court.

The day we hired Kiffin I put $200 on lsu -1.5

I should’ve put a thousand on it.

The offensive coordinator from last year is not in the ole miss box. Without him, they don’t beat GA.

A) Chambliss is not Burrow.

B) They have an entirely new offensive staff. Not sure how you can assert he has familiarity with the offense.

I think having a returning starter is better than not, particularly with how early in the season this game is. But I don’t think he’s as significant of a factor as you do.

I still can’t figure out why Mississippi would have jurisdiction in this case. Seems to me that NCAA eligibility is obviously under interstate commerce. Can he be determined to only be eligible within the state lines of Mississippi? That’d be fun.

Actually, Ole Miss made the best possible OC hire to keep things consistent: John David Baker. He's had real success at ECU on his own as OC since working previously under Lane and Ole Miss a couple of years ago. It'll be the same system essentially.

Chambliss will likely have a disappointing season next year.
