Less. No way we have that many 4th downs.

I will say fhe first time he goes on 4th inside his own 25 and doesnt get it, this place will lose it.
Happened a few times at Ole miss.

It'll be unnecessary since he's not coaching at an inferior school like F.A.U. or Ole Piss where he had to rely on trickery to get ahead.
At LSU, he'll just steam roll teams into submission.

We have a defense that will give the offense opportunities and we will not need to be aggressive on offense. I say less than 3 times all year, if any.

Does anyone think Lane went for it more because he was concerned with his defense? Or is it just Lane being Lane and he will roll the dice even if he has a great defense behind his offense?

This. Lane has shown improvement at limiting his overly aggressive in-game decisions, but it his definitely his biggest weakness as a coach imo. It almost cost him the OU game this year.

Back in the day Ole Les would do some outrageously aggressive things as well. What I genuinely hope for is a team where you can be aggressive and not make it but still recover and win. I believe we're set up pretty good to have a team like that, if they come together as a team. But I'm not really looking forward to a 4th and 10 on our 20 and Lane deciding to go for it. But it's bound to happen here and there.

This. (I hope).
I think he felt in the past like he had to take chances to manufacture a break for his team because they so often were not as talented as the top teams they played.
Hopefully he will not feel the necessity at LSU.
