When we built I had the electrician install a switch in my garage tied to an outlet in the attic for my air compressor. Finally got around to installing my air compressor and was thinking about changing the regular switch to a mechanical timer. This would be to avoid me leaving the switch on after I do some work and the air compressor randomly kicking on through the day/night.

The only switches I see (Amazon/lowes) are hot in/hot out. Anyone know of a switch that has hot/neutral/ground that I would wire like a regular switch?

Yeah, unless you install an Intermatic lighting controller that's pretty much how they are. Even the existing switch should only be working the hot leg with the neutral and ground connected to their respective wires in the switch outlet. Most programmable lighting switches can handle reasonable motor loads but maybe something like this would work for you.

Why on earth would you put an air compressor in an attic?
Nothing positive will come from an air compressor sucking in 130F air.
