NYC based corporations

It seems like corporations based in NYC would have a duty to their shareholders to move out of the city if the socialists go through with tax hikes. It seems like the shareholders could force them to move. Corporations have to maximize shareholder value.

Most of those board members are lined up to suck this guy off.

That stupid mayor would likely try to impose some sort of exit tax.

Hardly ever see men in suits in Manhattan these days. The ones that are out and about are usually doormen or lawyers. Yeah, Mamdani is going to be salesman of the year for the outgoing U-Haul business.

Relocating corps can have massive relocation costs, as well as issues finding employees.
So companies need to compare those costs with increased tax / compliance costs.

Always hard to do when asset managers like blackrock or vangaurd own so many voting shares. They are more interested in protecting stakeholder than shareholders in a lot of instances. You really need their backing to make a move on a board of directors for failing in their duty to stockholders. Also takes a lot to get the feds to step in and going after any company just because they want to stay in NY would be super messy,
