Has anyone ever played Golfcrest or been to the club there? They had the Aramco Houston Championship there this year for the European Ladies Tour. I am wondering what the course and clubhouse are like. Stock membership is $20k initiation, $7.5k for initiation for full golf (no stock), and ~$600/mo for golf and cart fee. Seems pretty reasonable for Houston if the facilities are nice.

Clubhouse is ok just older. Practice range is good not great. Good course that's usually well kept. It stays pretty crowded. I remember not that long ago you could join for $1000 or so. I think the price is very high but it doesn't really have any competition in the area.

I'd join it before Bay Oaks or Mag Creek. I have no clue what South Shore is asking but unless it's crazy cheap I'd take Golfcrest.

I have not played it but I did look into a membership back in 2024.
Stock Membership was $12,500 Monthly Fee was $540, Cart Plan was $90 for Single player, $99 for family plan or $17 Cart Fee per round. Not subject to the waiting list. The Full Golf Membership was $6250 Monthly Fee $540, Cart Plan $139 Single, $159 2 Players, $179 3+ Players or $22 Fee per round. There was a long waitlist and membership was capped at 450 Golf Members. While on the waitlist, there was limited access to tee times.
Bay Oaks was $10,000 Initiation and $800 Monthly Dues. I’ve also heard that for 2026 Magnolia Creek Monthly Dues with cart plan is now $850 Month.

How does the course compare to Timber Creek? They have an unlimited golf membership for like $4000 for the year or something like that

I haven’t played Timber Creek in a long time but a friend played a couple of week ago. He said it was in decent shape for what it is, nice having three 9’s as well. They do have a membership which I believe is $4500 par year paid up front that includes unlimited golf and carts. But the offer opens up January 1st of each year and is capped at 100 Memberships. When my friend played he asked about the membership and they only had 7 spots left at the time. Not sure how busy it gets on the weekends so trying to get a good tee time with all the public players might be an issue but I don’t really know. However Timber Creek is not on the same level as Magnolia Creek but I’d probably would pay the $4500 up front at Timber Creek vs paying around $10,000 per year at Magnolia Creek.

I haven't played there in over 20 years .
They use to have a great MGA that put on fun tournaments.

That fee sounds outrageous for that place. It is a decent layout.

Magnolia Creek is one of the courses that can beat you to death if the wind blows. I like it , but wouldn't spend 10k a year on it.

I haven't played Timber Creek in three years. I always liked the 27 hole layout, but they always had drainage issues. I believe that they corrected it mostly.

Pretty good golf course. Greens were always great, and I know they re-did them I think last year. Used to host a Hooters Tour event every year.

I had a friend join Golfcrest around 2018/2019 and it was crowded then. I keep hearing they are full and couldn’t imagine the pace of play out there now.

Timbercreek is terrible. They live off the people that think they are rich and want to show off shiny things. It’s a fine course but wayyyyyy over priced for the condition. At best the course is 6.5/10.

I’m on this side of town and my rotation is Bay Forest, Eagle Pointe, Gus Wortham, Moody Gardens, Atascocita, Wildcat and The Wilderness.
