Men's basketball has no one to take charge...

As soon as Arkansas took the lead and I saw that Acuff was gonna take charge, I knew LSU didn't have a chance. Most every team in the SEC has a player on their team like Arkansas does with Acuff....except for LSU. Just a bunch of average players and none of them have the capability of doing what Acuff did. I decided to go to YouTube and watch LSU vs Florida at Florida when Chris Jackson was a freshman. Those were the days.

Cool story. LSU needs a reset in basketball

I put this to you in another thread that I doubt you’ll answer. Hopefully you’ll do it here in your own thread:

I’m legitimately curious:
Do people as stupid as you ever hold a coach responsible for anything, positive or negative?
To hold this viewpoint has to mean you view a coach as completely meaningless. In which case, lsu should still fire him and just not replace him. I promise there will still be players willing to hold the ball in their hands without a coach.

Well, first off I would like to say that I will never get on here and attack someone by calling them "stupid". I will let others judge you for who and what you are. But to answer your question....Yes, I hold the coach responsible as he put together this roster of average players. If Acuff was on the LSU team the result would have been different and LSU would have won the game. But did the coaches shoot poorly from 3 point line. Did the coaches miss the free throws that were missed. The turnovers that were made during the game, did the coaches make those. And last but not least, did the coaches allow a poor defensive effort which allowed Arkansas to score 52 points. When Chris Jackson was a freshman playing for LSU and they went to Florida and beat Florida, I want you to tell me how much coaching had a play in the outcome of that game.

No, you clearly do not.

Is it a coincidence that the coaches that win have their teams performing better in all the ways you listed? And the ones who lose constantly just doggone it, have the worst luck, and their teams fail to execute on a regular basis?
I learned long ago that the HC is PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE for EVERYTHING (positive or negative) having to do with his program, PERIOD!!

You went back to the 80s? While I agree we don’t have a “take the game over” guy . We’ve had dudes take over Smart, cam Thomas, Skyler Mayes

I would have to watch a game to know that

Not totally true. Thomas is that guy when he gets back to full health and conditioning. He sat around for over 2 weeks while hurt and is still not 100%. He is the only guy on the team that could play big minutes on any team in the SEC, Needs some more reliable help for sure.
