Screamin A credits a brother for coaching NE defense - one problem, he isn’t coaching

Is anyone surprised? Most of these talking heads don’t watch a lot of sports, they just get handed a bunch of talking points to “drive debate.” So, you end up with people just flapping their gums and looking clueless.

Peter Scrager did pretty much the exact thing in reverse after the wildcard win
He was hyping up Kuhr and making it sound like he got the nod that day to call the defense for the first time, when he’s been calling it since week 2

He’s done this before a few times.

Whitlock is right about Stephen A

I notice that these national shows have a very superficial surface knowledge of specific teams and storylines.
And yes when you have to talk for hours it can be tough to get everything right in that context but it used to be producers made sure you at least didn't look that uninformed, but the producers these days often it seem are a bit young and inexperienced and not up to the task.
That morning show on ESPN on the radio Unsportsmanlike I think is the worst. I heard them talk about LSU a few times and it's criminal how ignorantly they come across they are so poorly prepared. It's like they don't even prep they just react to what the hear or read - no context.

Terrell Williams has been battling prostate cancer and Zak Kuhr has been the interim DC almost the entire season.
F*ing white dude always trying to get brothers from getting credit. Just couldn’t let it slide when we ignored this brother all season and we want to give him his due since he wasn’t there all season.
But seriously, clip cuts off early, wonder if Cam called him out on it. I ask about Can specifically, because he’s talked about NE a few times during his podcast.
I expect Ryan to hear “brother” and his blindly go all in on how great he is

That’s kind of the whole bit about morning sports talk, and most of the current older media types got their start in morning radio. It’s an intentional thing.
You have a ton of time to kill in morning radio, especially during the offseason of major sports like football, so you learn and are taught to draw out every point, make your point over and over, and do whatever you can to get to the next ad read. Doesn’t matter if you know anything about the topic, just go off the dome with maybe a small note pad in front of you to hit certain points or stats that make it sound credible
Same reason why Ryen Rusillo can’t make a point without talking for 25 minutes without taking a breathe. Difference is he drags it out by talking in circles around hot takes bc he never wants to have a real take (Josh Pate has taken notes on this) while Stephan A drags it out by having as many and as big of hot takes as his brain can muster in the moment. Two sides of the same coin.
