Last year during the Doge cost cutting activity there were many cries and tears about the national weather service losing 12 % of its employees, about 600 personnel. the world was going to end and no one would know.

So with a 120 million dollar employee cost reduction, I see no one complaining about lack of information getting prepared for the big freeze. Everybody got their toilet paper, boose, and gen sets on time.

suggests that the 12 % was the dead heads.

Oh trust me - once a grandma is found frozen stuck in her car they will say that the cuts solved it. Despite the fact anyone with a brain cell would know for a week it was coming, simply by all the grocery stores being emptied out.

my 120 million was employee cost. Employees also spend money on projects, travel, office space, grants etc. could add another 100 million to this number. in savings

Well if we all know that the largest storm in 40 years is on its way, seems like the National Weather Service is adequately staffed.

Right???

Will it make the storm go away if they don’t have more people in the NWS???
Everyone has known it is coming for over a week. Not much else they can do.
