It means a little less for Big 10 when 6 of those games (5-1) are from Indiana & Oregon
I guess the * means they didn’t count IU/Oregon? So 4 wins came from IU & Oregon

Take those two teams out and they still went 5-3

Think you are right with the intraconference games removed.
Still impressive.
SEC got some work to do

The sec shite the bed bad. I think that was a bit of bad luck as we had a 5-7 team in miss state playing and LSU was without a legit coach.
Plus you had a sec/sec first round matchup and a sec/sec quarter final.
The big1 didn’t have but IU/Oregon in the semis.
Still the sec has been down bad the last few years. Saban wrecking the league for a decade left a power vacuum and Kirby can’t figure out a bye week . The Sec will tick back up, they didn’t win for a while in the BCS after the first one and didnt win the first two playoff years either.

Excluding the playoffs, bowl game records don't hold the weight they have in the past. Most of the high profile players opt out of bowl games. Look at the Houston LSU game. Houston had very few if any opt outs compared to multiple LSU player opt outs.

I think the conference bull shite is so dumb
8 losses:
Indiana was better than Bama
Miami was better than A&M
Miami was better than Ole Miss (w Pete Golding)
LSU losing to Houston wasn’t that surprising after opt outs & interim coach
Vanderbilt losing to Iowa (34-37) wasn’t that surprising
Mississippi State didn’t belong in a bowl game
Missouri losing to UVA (13-7) was a little surprising
Tennessee losing to Illinois (30-28) was a little surprising

Having Bama,Ou, Aggy, UGA and ole Miss all in really put the sec in a tough spot for down stream bowl games.
Plus LSU with opt outs and a terrible failure of a rb coach running the ship doesn’t help. Miss state didn’t belong in a bowl game.
Vandy losing to Iowa was bad along with Mizzou and UT as well.

How can it mean less when those are the biggest games of the year in the entire sport. If anything those games mean MORE.

Sure but the overall record is inflated when 4 wins came from 2 teams (in favorable matchups)

So because they won the biggest games they don't count? Who cares if you are favored to win? You still have to win them.
This is the opposite approach most are taking where the non Playoff Games don't count. You are somehow saying the playoff games are counting too much
