Doing a Buffy/Angel re-watch. Shows were so good.

First season and a half of buffy were pretty bad, But after Angelus arrives, that was when it found it's stride
You could see Whedon figuring out how to write dialog as it progresses. Finishing S4 with Buffy and S2 of Angel tonight after the game.

Angel is great. Never watched Buffy.
My gf and I watched Angel all the way last year. She had never seen/heard of it or Buffy lol.

I just started a watch of Supernatural. May do Buffy next.

Buffy is very good, same basic tone.
No Wolfram and Hart in Buffy, sadly, but the stakes tend to be much higher
On the plus side for Buffy, no Connor
Angel S1 runs concurrently with Buffy S3

I ran from watching Buffy & Angel when they were on. Despite claims by folks who I trusted, I noped out. Oh, I'd seen an episode or two. Got the gist of it and all, but no...hell no.
Not in my wheelhouse.
It's a kids show.
Stupid vampire / slayer forbidden love crap.
Hard pass.
Then Firefly aired. Totally hooked. Damn that 1 season. So I needed. MORE of that type of storytelling.
Angel was still on. Caught some of it , but wasn't sure who or what everyone was , so I started from the beginning. Very impressed.
So I HAD to go back to the start and get the backstory of where it all started. So I watched the Whedon shows in reverse.
Firefly, Angel, Buffy.
Buffy 1 was 'meh', and there was a couple of iffy story arcs, but damn. So many great moments.
I'd give Angel the slight nod over Buffy, just because there's no HS drama crap.
Not in my wheelhouse.
