2nd round on 12/13
Quarter finals on 12/20
Semi finals on 12/27
Championship on 1/3
I think 16 is better than 24, cuts out 1 round of playoffs

As ideal as that schedule might be, you have to reconcile it with the Army-Navy game. With the CFP expanding to 12 teams, there is a distinct possibility that either one of them could make it into the playoffs. They don't play their game until the second weekend in December.

Semifinals on or around New Year's Day would be fine and 12 teams seems right as long as it's the best 12 teams.

If you don't like it, don't watch. Don't bet. Don't even really talk about it online.
They keep making more and more money, and money is the number driver of college sports. It's gotten to the point where the integrity of college football has been damaged.
I don't think making money is bad, but when the product becomes shitty because of it, it is the consumer's responsibility to stop buying. That's what makes capitalism work.
But if we're too stupid to realize that voting with our dollars is in our rights, then we need stop complaining when the suits make decisions we don't like.

We can thank the NFL. Next year’s Super Bowl is on Feb 14. Meaning conference champ games are on Jan 31, div playoffs Jan 23-24 and Wild card games Jan 16-17-18. CFP title game should be Jan 18, but it won’t be because there will be an NFL wild card game going on that night.
