In this era you don’t let a top player go because they don’t choose you. You keep chasing them like they’re the hot girl and you make offers to them! The day of picking someone who “wants to play for your school” are over. Every player is going to play for a combo of who pays them the most, but still gives them a great chance at the league. You don’t let any top player go. You chase them until they sign with another team. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket, but this isn’t the same era of “picking someone who who wants to play for you and if they don’t F ‘em!”
