Anyone have Feedback on Bent Rod Charters out of Grand Isle?

My buddy planned a deep sea fishing trip in February and wound up picking Bent Rod Fishing Charter out of Grand Isle. Just not sure if anyone had any experience with them, whether good or bad, as I know charters can be hit or miss

My old boss used to use them every year to take out a couple clients, and I was lucky enough to make one of the trips with them. I forgot the captain's name, (maybe Kenny?) but we caught our limit of cobia, mangrove, and snapper if I recall correctly. Didn't get any tuna. It was a fun trip, and the captain kept fricking with me at the beginning because I didn't know you weren't supposed to set the hook lol. It was my first trip off shore, but we had a great time, and they cleaned and packed up all our fish for us lickity split after the trip. Now that was probably almost ten years ago.
ETA: yep, it was 2017.

I got chewed out for the same thing, Captain found a lone Cobia under a floating buoy handed me a rod and after a few cast it took the bait.
I set the hook like a bass and jerked the bait away, the fish rolled and disappeared.

He comes back to the dock with good catches most days and has always been very pleasant to share the cleaning table with. I’d say with Lance Walker (RIP) no longer an option, he stays as booked as anyone down there. If I wasn’t lucky enough to have the private boat opportunities I do, I’d either look at them or go out of Fourchon with the Down the Bayou crew.

That’s good to know! Another question, we are trying to go for Tuna, and I know that fuel costs are added to that on top of the trip costs. What would we be looking like? I know it’s dependent on how far out you go, but just a rough ball park. It’ll be split between 6 of us but curious nonetheless

Wankos are family friends. Trey is going to work hard to put them on fish. He's only 22 but works his arse off. His little brother cleans fish and boats when he's not in school. Good kids from a good family.
ETA; Trey bought the business a couple summers ago.
