If a HS kid can back out of a LOI. What's to stop Lacy or Chambliss from backing out?

Contracts are broken all the time.

Do I think this will happen NO. But isn't this a possibility with basically no rules in College Football.

Had similar thought ... just how buttoned up is Lacy and/or Chambliss? Could they be wispering sweet nothings to OM during this playoff run (otherwise very awkward) only to pull out after they win it all, or lose.

More of an interesting thought to me.

I personally have moved on from Chambliss. I trust Lane.

As for Lacy, I continue to think he is a good back, but more a function of LK's system. I think Berry will have a breakout year next year. Just need some support to take pressure off.

If a LOI is signed, the school has to agree to let you go. The player just can’t get up and leave.

Maybe they're legally binding. Nobody knows the details on their deals with Chmabliss and Lacy. LSU basically moved on with Chambliss they had no choice. I doubt he's going anywhere.

I mean didn’t that QB just back out of an agreement with Nebraska? Same thing right?

And people get sued for breach of contract all the time.
Most sports contracts that people such as coaches get out of have out clauses that set provisions for getting out of them which, if followed, don’t constitute a breach.

Any money they received would have to be paid back. Usually the school they transfer to would pay it.

He had committed, not signed.
