Stating the obvious here, but remember that Ole Miss needs to lose today before the transfer portal opens tomorrow.
With a win, LSU runs the risk of not getting everyone they want on that OM roster.

Players on playoff teams get 5 days after a loss to enter the portal. Winning or losing will not change who we can get if they enter the portal.
The risk is that they decide to stay after making a deep run.

Why when you can have Lacy? They were so late in the playoffs that Kiffin could take a division rival out of contention and rearm with them at the same time.
Kiffin will still dominate and win at least a few NCs, but Ole Miss at that shite hole still looks challenging now.
