Heading down for a day trip.
Causeway, trestles/Rigolets, north end of MRGO out of chalmette.
Out of these three, best option to put some specks in the boat.

I’m no expert on those areas but with this cold front I would go to the deepest water which would be MRGO out of Chalmette I think.

I wouldn’t think the causeway is holding much this time of the year. The Wall in Chalmette gave us 22 keepers on Sunday. Lots of throw backs

Smoked the trout in coco today. But took a few spots to find them.

Couldn’t leave the camp till 9 due to my boat sitting on land

Went to MRGO, first time going there
Tide RIPPING out through the gate
Fished wall, fished rocks, fished flats
Fished shallow, fished deep
Fished artificial, fished live shrimp

Fished out of the yak about ten days ago north of Coco marina and the water was way low. Only managed a few. You fish Boudreaux any this winter? Thinking about heading that way this weekend.

No I don’t make it that far north, but there are some good spots in Boudreaux. Especially where the pumps empty out at.

The islands near the gulf? I would never think to go that far south this time of year.

Been going to Boudreaux because of Boudreaux canal lock being closed.
Like it a lot there, but trout are small.

I haven’t found the holes yet where the big ones hide

Looking at your pictures and trying to figure out where this is, lol. Somewhere north of barre?

The water has been very low lately at our camp as well, but not THIS low.

I’m in the marsh south of Moss bay.

These negative tides have been crazy. I am jumping redfish in the middle of canals

It wasn’t to rough? I made a quick to SM late afternoon, but the wind was blowing pretty hard.

I don’t fish much during the winter, but can you catch trout that far south (barre, pelto) this time of year?
