Are you embarrassed that Alabama is trying to cancel their '27/'28 games vs Ohio State ?

Mark Ingram said Alabama is trying to back out of their home & home vs Ohio State because they don't want it to hurt their playoff chances WHEN they lose.
Is that a bad look for the SEC, or just a bad look for Alabama ?
Alabama determined that when it comes to Ohio State
Alabama when Ohio State rolls up,,,,

Did this seem funny in your head?

Good for them. The committee has shown its about number of losses, not who went out and played a strong schedule. Expect much more of this.

Why would I be embarrassed?
But... it's a high risk, low reward game for both teams. Back in the BCS days or even the 4-team playoff that big win could get you in at the end.. now it's unnecessary.
Texas is probably in if they whip up on Rice or some other non-P4 school instead of taking a loss to Ohio State.

Vanderbilt went 6-2 in SEC this year too, but they weren’t getting in the CFP.
Either you win games like this, or don’t lose 2 games in the SEC… which will be harder to do with a 9 game schedule
ETA: now if we’re heading to 16 teams or more, sure these games are meaningless

Texas is out because they lost to 4-8 Florida & they lost by 25 to Georgia.
And if you win a big game like Ohio State it serves as a huge tie breaker regarding your playoff argument.
Ohio State probably doesn't get a first round bye without that Texas win.

Other side of the argument is A&M is out of the playoffs if they beat Rice in a cupcake game at home instead of beating Notre Dame on the road.

Hmm this person is posting as an Ohio State fan? Could it be that one poster who has made about 7 alters?

Tamu went 11-1. They weren’t missing the playoffs regardless of Nd or rice

Congrats on being one of the few people that understand this.
It's embarrassing that Alabama isn't even considering the possibility of beating Ohio State and the advantages they would get from doing so.
If Alabama faces Ohio State in the playoffs are they going to try and get that game cancelled too ?

Wut?
Bama got in with 3 losses and a tough schedule
ND left out with 2 loses and shite schedule where they lost to the 2 best teams they played.

Ohio St needs this game more because of the cupcake conference schedule in the Big 10. As former Bama now Buckeye Caleb Downs said 'We only have to get up for a few games in the Big 10'.
The playoff committee has proven winning your games no matter the schedule is all that matters.

Alabama got in with 3 losses.
Notre Dame & BYU were left out with 2 losses.
Don't you just hate it when facts destroy your argument ?

Alabama is in even though we lost to a 5-7 FSU team by 14 and Georgia by 21.
If Texas had played Purdue instead of Ohio State they are 10-2 with wins over Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt. That changes the calculus.

Bama's 3rd loss was in the SEC championship game. Had Texas played a weak opponent instead of OSU, they would be in the playoffs. That's why Bama is thinking of doing this. More risk than reward. JMHO

At 11-1? No, not a chance.
