This will be a Fantastic hire for Michigan if it indeed happens, especially when you consider all the shite that has befallen that program of late.

This screams midseason resignation in like a year and a half

I think he's there 4 years. Brings much needed stability, then walks off into the sunset at 70.

Kelly can't hold Whittingham's jock

He is a fantastic coach

You are what your record says you are

This is revisionist history. Whittingham is an 8-4 avg record coach.

BK has a way better record against better competition

Kelly- 276 games, 73% winning percentage
Whittingham- 265 games, 67% winning percentage

And now Whittingham is 6 years older than Kelly when he took the LSU job and hasn’t coached outside of the state of Utah since 1993(a couple years at Eastern Idaho)

Good luck

Whittingham is one of those guys that the larger CFB viewer base kind of pays attention to, but not that much because he’s out west and rarely had big enough success or failure to draw more eyes

But you ask a random CFB fan about him, the answer is “damn good coach” but can’t tell you why

Really disappointed in Whittingham. He quit on his team. Should have stayed and built something special you know? He could’ve gotten a statue there

No, he saw the writing on the wall once Utah sold out to private equity

Only on this board, just amongst LSU fans, is Kyle.fricking Whittingham considered a "bad" hire

He abandoned those poor kids. What ever happened to loyalty?

I don’t think he’s a bad coach. I think he should’ve stayed where he was, been loyal, and built something special. He would’ve had a statue built for him. He should learn to just be happy where he is
