If they lose next week and the Ravens win next week it still comes down to their meeting in the final week I believe.

But Pitt holds the tiebreakers right?

If they finish with the same record and splitting their games believe Ravens still hold the tie breaker but that’s where I’m not 100% sure

Not tonight, no. But if the Ravens lose, they can clinch next week by beating the dogshit Browns.

Tie breaking rules in order

Steelers have a 1 game advantage in division losses right now so if they beat the Browns there’s no way for the ravens to have a better in division record and thus would win the division

I looked it up. If they lose they'll be guaranteed a worse conference record. They can't do any better than tie head to head and division record.

But conference records don't come into play right off the bat right? Its division record, then head to head of common opponents.

The correct answer. If the Steelers beat the hapless Browns (which is not a given - they are trying to give me a heart attack) then they win the division. Week seventeen is a moot point. They will finish one game ahead of the Ravens.

I think you wrong here

Pitt is 3-1 in the division if they beat Cleveland they 4-1 with Baltimore left

Ravens are 3-2 in division and if they beat Pitt they would be 4-2

So both teams would 4-2 within the conference. This is all if Baltimore wins tonite and next week and Pitt beats Browns.

So then if they tied then they would go to won/loss against common teams which i think Baltimore has better record against common teams

I never understood how people can be so confidently incorrect. Go play around with espns playoff machine and you'll see that if the Ravens win out they'll win the division

You are correct. I am just still fuming over the end of the Steelers-Lions game and should not have even been posting.

I do not want this team to make the playoffs. They are going to lose in the first round (again).

Ironic call out considering the very title of this thread is assuming the ravens don’t win out

Did not have this on my bingo card.

If the Steelers win against the Browns next week they win the AFC North.

Or if Ravens lose against Packers Saturday then they also would win the North. Steelers don't play till Sunday

Good point. They may be able to take a knee and rest some starters if the Ravens lose to the Packers.
