I wonder if Z Johnson has an injury? She hasn’t played today.

Looking forward to playing better teams. I think Kim has a good idea now of her rotations and players.

The only plausible reason for Kim's dreadful OOC schedule is she is scared to drag down her career 85% win percentage. There is no good reason to play such awful teams over and over. So what if you lose a game early in the season? You just might learn more about your team in a loss than by beating UT-Arlington by 70 points.

I watched one game this year, the Duke game. Wake me up when SEC games arrive.

I'll trust the hall of famer even though my preference would be better games.

Kim Mulkey is the only basketball coach at LSU to win a national championship and fans question her scheduling!

Select few. Not the majority.

Man, you continue to nail the uninformed, stupid takes. She has said specifically why she does this.

Well, given her success, I wouldn't question her reasoning for continuing the scheduling philosophy she has used since her days at Baylor. She knows the conference schedule is daunting enough and this gives her a chance to audition players, try different rotations and combinations, and teach maintaining intensity regardless of the score.

The SEC currently has 3 teams in the Top 5, 4 in the Top 8, 7 in the Top 14 and so on. That's enough of a grind.

She stated a year or 2 ago after they received a lesser seeding during the tournament selection that they will no longer seek the toughest game leading up to SEC play.

Instead, she’s using these games to build team chemistry and instill confidence in her younger players. Fans might hate it, but we will find out when SEC play starts how effective her strategy is.

She didn't win the national championship in 2023 because they beat UT-Arlington by 65 points.

There is zero data to suggest Kim Mulkey playing 12 rent a wins in the non conference is better for her team than playing a schedule like UCONN and South Carolina.

How can anyone as a fan enjoy these games? This team could possibly advane to the Final Four and maybe even win it all....

but it won't be becasue of the non conference schedule.

This. Plus it has been shown over the years that LSU has been penalized majorly for any loss. The committee frowns on it. We have been under seeded every single year minus Kims first year here. IMO Kim would have been to one more final four so far with a better non conference schedule. Unless you go undefeated LSU will not be a 1 seed. There is a huge advangtage making to the final four as a 1 seed.

I know Kim can do no wrong on here but IMO its an old school line of thinking that she needs to change. Obviously, I could be wrong.

UT-Arlington is not a bad team. They beat A&M earlier this season. They are definitely better than some of the road-kill teams we have played....and we beat them by 65. Yeah I would like to see a few better games pre-SEC, but today was pretty impressive.
