They dont "owe" him anything.
They've told him they would pay him any bonus that he would receive this season if he were under contract at UM

Interestingly, LSU head coach Lane Kiffin made out pretty well yesterday while watching from the outside, as his former Ole Miss team advanced in the CFP with a 41-10 win over Tulane. As you may recall, LSU is paying Kiffin bonuses based on Ole Miss’s postseason performance, as stipulated in his new contract. LSU now owes Kiffin $150,000 for yesterday’s win. That number would increase to $250,000 with a quarterfinal win over Georgia, $500,000 with a semifinal victory, $750,000 with a national championship appearance, and $1 million with a national championship win. Bizarre times indeed.
