"We had a conversation, actually, with the building personnel, about whether or not to tear down the Kennedy Center. The President said, "No, I want to save it."... And he did that. In less than 10 months, President Trump got $250 million to save the Kennedy Center."
Trump Kennedy Center President, Ambassador @RichardGrenell joined @edhenry on @Newsmax to discuss our board's unanimous vote honoring the man who saved this national treasure—our Chairman, President Donald J. Trump—by renaming it the "The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts."

If not for the orange man their precious Kennedy Center would be a pile of rubble

Of course they should... but they never will.
I'm just here for entertainment...
Act 1 Breaking story, Trump has the audacity to put his name on the precious Kennedy Center
Act 2 The Usual Suspects meltdown, sky scream and hit the airwaves
Act 3... The Kennedy Center was actually saved by none other than Trump
Every time... and they never but never look before they leap.

Who wanted to tear it down?

Trump absolutely deserves to have his name on this building as a tribute to his efforts to preserve and save the building. The only reason this is remotely controversial is because of pervasive TDS among democrats and the drive-by media.

Ditto. I am not watching a Newsmax clip. Don't know why you got downvoted it is a fair question since the OP did not even explain who it was.
