- HHS announces a policy shift under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to minimize unnecessary animal testing and advance human-based alternatives, part of a Trump administration-wide focus on animal welfare revealed at a December 2025 DOJ roundtable with AG Pam Bondi, USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins, and Lara Trump.
- This aligns with a December 18, 2025, congressional defense bill prohibiting painful dog and cat experiments at the Pentagon, potentially saving taxpayer funds—estimated at $20 billion annually on federal animal testing

I believe there is a place for animal testing... but it seems like most awful stories I've heard about were testing some seriously unnecessary shite.

Aren’t there a small group of monkeys in Florida (the only such groups in North America) that are the offspring of a bunch of lab monkeys that escaped during hurricane Andrew?
