Considering all of the recent discoveries of fraud in Minnesota by Somali migrants and politicians doing nothing about it there, does this not raise some eyebrows? Melissa Hortman cast the decisive vote in June 2025 to end eligibility for adult undocumented immigrants in MinnesotaCare, a state-subsidized health insurance program for low-income residents.
She was the only Democrat in the Minnesota House to vote yes on the bill (passing 68-65), joining all Republicans. This provision was part of a broader budget compromise to avoid a government shutdown, and Hortman described it as a painful decision made to honor the deal, despite her personal opposition. She stated publicly that the vote was reluctant and not reflective of her views on immigrant rights.

Well, the guy who killed her said that his buddy Walz asked him to do it.

Makes me ragey every time some talking head points to her assassination as an example of "right wing violence" to prop up their "both sides!" horseshite.

I find Walz loathesome and despicable but the killer is nuts. Without some corroborating evidence I think there's reason to be skeptical on that claim.

Yep, I’ve talked to two people about this and they were both aware of it. Guess I’m living under a rock.

Same. They say he’s right wing. But why would a right leaning person kill a person that just voted in a manner they’d agree with?

Did he kill and try to kill people who voted in a manner that he DID agree with?

You can’t just randomly blame things on Somalis. Fraud and murder are two different types of crimes. If the crime is organized, then those two things come together.

That woman only stood out for voting against democrats' wishes on an immigration bill (I think it was). Then within a month or so, she was dead.

But didn't the killer kill someone else and shoot others that voted the opposite way? I am open to y'all's theory, but it has to account for the other victims as well.

He shot a DFL Senator named HOFFMAN and his wife and daughter.

Then within that day or the next he short this woman named HORTMAN and her husband and daughter. The democrat's main issue was disabilities.

Hortmann had just voted against the democrats for the first time on something immigration-related (harder to find than I want to look for - imagine that.

The kook as likely as not got the wrong person the first time.

This was the case where one of our current wannabe lawyers/Mensa members claimed that the killer was MAGA. I remember it all too well.

I don’t disagree, Walz is loathsome and the killer is nuts.
But it’s also interesting that he knew Walz for years, and immediately claimed Walz asked him to do it.
I agree with being skeptical, but the whole deal combined with Somali fraud is intriguing.

Wouldn't the best assassin be one that no one would find credible?
