Whining about college football and CFP is played out.

I think most of the guys I see seriously whining are Gen Xers, are they grandpas now? I guess they are.
This old boomer likes the current CFP. I never thought it was to give the Cinderellas a chance to win; it was to avoid flipping a coin for the top two or four. There are as many as 6-8 teams that could legitimately win it all in some years. 12 teams means they all get their shot, and the cost is that people argue about which team that would never win it all gets left out, rather than arguing about which team that legitimately could have won is left out.
That's my grandpa take on the matter. I will enjoy the rest of the games, as requested.

What I don’t understand, regardless of what generation you are in is for several years now the majority of college football fans were calling for a playoff system. I don’t get it. What system is ever going to make everyone happy?

I get that. All I wanted was for teams to be able to settle it on the field. It's difficult in college football because the structure does not lend itself to doing that easily. The poll era had some head scratchers, and the BCS era had a few times where there were questions about which two teams really should be in. The 4-team CFP was better, but there were still occasional questions about which of the top 6 really should be the top 4.
Nothing will be perfect; you just have to get to a point where you think you have smoothed out the biggest questions that really matter. Who really deserves 9-12 is a question I don't really care that much about.

This round of the playoffs is nothing but a money grab.
They could have just left it where it starts during the big bowl games.
I don't know when these idiots that decide to keep expanding the playoffs every year are going to knock it off. They are prisoners to different outliers each season it seems like.

The current playoff format is way way down the list of the current problems facing college football.

Whining is as traditional now in CFB as bands or mascots.
I don’t care if it’s the old bowl system, the BCS or the current playoffs structure, more years than not there will be at least (at least) one school and its fanbase that believes they “got screwed”.
People inherently love to beech and moan as it is and CFB provides a perfect vehicle for them to do so.

I am not a boomer and I hate everything about college sports these days. Don't even watch anymore. I'll just watch the NFL and NBA
