Is it time to talk about a couple of SC Justices retiring?

Thomas is 78 and has had health issues. Alito is 75. Should we learn a lesson from RBG and have then step down and be replaced before the mid terms?

Sure.
No more women, though.

How much confidence do you have in the uniparty congress? The house couldn’t even get enough votes to censure Omar.

We may lose the Senate and best case you’re getting a John Roberts type through if we do. Worst case, they hold out and the next President gets to pick them.

Well... there was a trade on that one. Unfortunately.

Asking the greatest Supreme Court Justice in US history to step down is a hard thing to do

True. I forgot about that and it almost makes it worse.

frick no, CT needs to stick around until he dies.

It *definitely* makes it worse. It seems like we have a sizable number of corrupted critters on our side and it pisses me tf off. It's like they are intentionally propped up into office BECAUSE of their skeletons- making them more pliable to uniparty bullshite.
My congress critter was ousted recently on some gnarly shite. He was THE backed candidate in his primary- real people had NO chance.

That's what RBG thought...

If you want to get judges through, you need to re-elect John Cornyn

100% YES.

I said it was time to do it right after Trump was sworn in. You must pick a person that is 100% like Scalia/Thomas.

They both need to retire.
Get good new blood.
Both are great but it's time.

Clarence Thomas will step down when the time is appropriate, not before or after

Grassly would stall any nominees so Newsom could name the justices after he wins the 2028 presidential election.

It won’t matter - unlike the gop when the Dems get back in power they will pack the courts

Good thought - but these are two of the best in my lifetime.
I do think it is a crapshoot with Thomas making it thru the next POTUS tenure - and if we get a DEM following Trump it will be doomsday.
if the Dems ever get control of POTUS and Congress, we can kiss the SCOTUS goodbye - along with the rest of the country. That would be time for secession.

I don’t have faith in the GOP to confirm Trumps nominees at this point
