Alexander Acosta is an American attorney and former government official best known for his role as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida in 2008, where he oversaw a controversial non-prosecution agreement with wealthy sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The "sweetheart deal" allowed Epstein to avoid federal charges and a potential life sentence by pleading guilty to state prostitution charges, serving a 13-month county jail sentence with work release privileges, and granting immunity to unnamed co-conspirators.

He was the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of FL who let Epstein slide. Not his actual attorney, but he damn sure helped him out
