How in the hell can he say that a guy who was mauled at tackle as a freshman and moved to guard and was a consensus all american was not coached properly?

Watch the vid in the link, and tell me he's not a douche.

Herman Johnson was not coached well?

Herman Johnson was coached by offensive line coaches who their peers thought were great coaches. That's just one guy's opinion and he looks like he is still in grade school.

I was thinking the same thing; the dude looks pretty damn young to be talking about OL's, like he is some expert...

I agree that dude looks young. He could have a small point though. Maybe Big Herm knew a little less than the other offensive lineman ?

In hindsight, Herm was basically saying he had always played guard, simply never was 'trained' to play tackle. P.S.- Party, I want the Maserati in your picture!

Agree that dude is an idiot.

Johnson was a fixture at LG and was coached to dominance at that position.

Why would the coaches cross him over to RIGHT TACKLE???

That's the switch, LG to RT, at the senior bowl. Of course he's not been "coached up" at right tackle.

Cross-training of OL does not happen at the college level cause guys usually only play 2-3 years. They get a spot and stick it unless the team is decimated by injuries.

The guy was born in Nicarauga, ran track at Tx Southern, and now runs a sports fitness program.

He specializes in teaching speed, and like Herm said, "I had to get used to the difference in steps." So the guy claims it was due to lack of coaching. Sheesh.

What the heck does a little shrimp like him know about playing line to begin with? He probably better stick with speed work. He ain't old enough to have learned how to play line at the upper levels. It takes more than a couple of classes down at the university. You literally have to go to the school of hard knocks,

Hey, look at meeee, look at meeee! I know more than a guy that played the position at big time program, coached under legendary coaches, coached in the NFL, and won multiple NC with devastating offenses. Even though the coach has been coaching longer than I have been alive, I know more. If you want to know something, here's my business card.
