A nine game SEC schedule means we can fit Tulane in regularly. Let's say we have a year with 5 home SEC games and two rent a wins at home. That's 7 home games for sure. In years we have 4 SEC home games and two rent a wins we have 6 homes for sure. A home and home with Tulane would mean we either have 8 and 6 home games or we have 7 home games every year depending on when we host Tulane.

We don't have to play Tulane every year. Michigan and ND take breaks. Some years we can schedule a FSU or Clemson for a home and home.

We also need to think about a year where we play Tulane, a rent a win and maybe another power conference opponent.

Tulane can charge more money for tickets when we go to New Orleans. That is common in college football. They could get double for tickets in their smaller stadium.

We know what’s in it for Tulane. What’s in it for LSU?

Rent a win and good practice, actually I take that back. If anyone should be paying it should be them for giving them some exposure

Need to stick with major college opponents. Nothing to gain by whipping up on Toolame.

As a fan and alumnus, I'd rather play a more peer in-state school. I think most LSU fans would rather play Tulane than USL or LaTech. We have a history with Tulane and we are the two best universities in the state. We play Tulane in other sports like baseball.

Tulane appears to not be a dog shite program anymore. I think the game gets substantial national tv attention as long as Tulane is serious about football. We can end the series if they regress. As I said financially they can charge more at their stadium when we play them.

frick no, they want us to play in New Orleans so our fans can subsidize their shite program. They couldn’t even sell out 30k for a champ game.

Feh! We gain less whipping up Southern and McNeese and La Tech.

I wish the old rivalries would come back. Colorado-Nebraska, Pitt-Penn State-West Virginia, LSU-Tulane.

We might have dominated but it was a longtime season finale so it's at least equivalent to Bedlam.

How much does it cost LSU fans to go to Tallahassee or Los Angeles or Miami or Clemson if you include travel, hotel rooms, meals and tickets that would be as much or even more than what Tulane would charge even if they raise prices for those tickets.

I don't get how younger LSU fans don't want to beat up on Tulane. I'd rather beat them than Southern for Christ's sake and the financials of traveling to New Orleans when you consider travel can work out.

In the past 70ish years, the LSU-Tulane “rivalry” was compelling for like 4 years in the early 1980s. That’s it.

Part of the reason they cancelled the redux was lack of interest

I have no issue with playing them from a competitive standpoint, but they want return games and that’s a hard no.

You’re missing the point. Younger LSU fans see no difference between Tulane and Southern/Southeastern/ULL/LaTech.

And you know what? They’re right

Same thing that's in it when we play any in state school.
