The irony is that a few years ago, this would be a non issue...

When the CFP was top 4, OM would be out of the running.
OM is not in the conference championship.
OM would not finish top 4.
They'd get a nice CFP loser bowl, but nothing else.
The expanded field is really what creates this drama. OM is a wild card team.

Modern CFB postseason makes it closer to an NCAA tourney team then a BCS championship bid team at this point.
