The talks are real. The position has been discussed multiple times. So, too, have loose parameters of a contract offer.

This is an interesting one.

Sitake would be a real solid hire for Penn St. Although, they fired Franklin for 10-2 seasons, not being able to beat Ohio St, and Michigan. Sitake will keep Penn St, rolling at 10-2 and losing to their biggest conference foes. Seems like a lateral decision by Penn St. Sitake is a good coach, but he won’t elevate them to National Champs.

This makes zero sense when you’re about to open up newly $700m renovated beaver stadium and Adidas is beginning a 10yr, $300m deal.

He’s been a BYU lifer. Alum plus worked on staff there as well as Utah. Seems like an odd fit anywhere else.

Likely on par with Franklin IMO. Sitake will have more 9-3, 10-2 seasons just like Franklin did. I don’t see Sitake elevating Penn St.

I thought the same about Bronco Mendenhall, but even he eventually moved on; granted, he wasn’t an alum.

Feels like a Bronco Mendenhall to Virginia situation. Weird, weird fit.
