I genuinely feel bad for Ole Miss players, but this is a product of this new system

It is a damn shame that as it appears, the staff is going to be left in a shambles heading into the playoff run. My oldest daughter (no pics) is an Ole Miss grad (started at LSU and transferred for a good reaason), but me, my wife and three other kids are either LSU alums now or will be by next May. It runs deep in our blood and I never root for other SEC schools unless it directly helps LSU.

That being said, I take no joy in how this is playing out. And I don't blame our new coach - I'm ecstatic and have the highest of expectations for him and don't know that I would've wanted anyone else that is remotely available.

I will still enjoy rooting against all the SEC teams that will be in the playoff and will take great joy in any loss, though now, I just feel pity and sympathy for Ole Miss, though I will say pretty much only the players and one OM alum/fan in particular - not most of the fan base or university in general. But I do feel the fault lies in structure of the calendar for playoffs, signing day and xfer portal. No LK's fault, thought he will be made a villian, as will LSU.

I'm ready for him to be in front of a podium and be able to stick a fork in this deal.

Blame the calendar, not Kiffin.
I was actually supporting him coaching them out. Ole Miss is the issue

Their players for the most part got paid to transfer from other schools. Hard to feel too bad for them

I used to feel bad for the kids. But not in the portal age, it’s a free for all. There’s no loyalty except to the money for coaches or players.

That is true and an excellent point. Innocence is long lost in CFB and I think the compensation should at least in theory ease the pain, though there are some things you just can't buy.

I actually didn’t think about this. Good point. It’s all business now.

75% of those kids care about money and NFL. That most of those ‘kids’ are trying to get momma a new house and car. They didn’t grow up cheering for a college team and aren’t emotionally attached at winning as most of us. Give them $200k or playing in a playoff… bet most take the $200k.

Why? Players transfer out every year now. Sit out games, etc. leave their team and coaches hanging. Why are they allowed to do whatever they want? The players created all this BS!

Kiffin certainly does leave a trail of chaos in places he leaves or gets fired from.
