That will be a boost to the eastern coast if we have to go that far for someone

Could've done much better than this. Was a TE coach really a necessity considering Miles has coached it in his career?
Not a horrible hire but not a great one either.

His resume doesn't look too impressive. Duke had some ridiculously unorganized recruiting efforts from 2003 to 2007. Most of the blame should go to Carl Franks and Ted Roof of course, but it isn't a great sign.
Also, Boston College has had pretty dismal recruiting classes the past few years. On the bright side, he signed 11 players over the past three years for BC, so it seems like he can build good relationships.

Will be easier for him to recruit at LSU than BC obviously. But I get the feeling this was Mile's filling a "need" like he does for recruiting, a TE coach.

Guys like Porter, Strudawa, and McCarthy(?) will still do most of the recruiting along with Cooper and Brick Haley.
Yank will be the recruiting cordinator, which is more of a desk job. I kinduv wish they had hired a QB coach/recruiting cordinator though.

seems like a solid hire to me. He did well at boston college, looks like he has a tough edge, which we could use. I think he will do well at lsu.

I'd be willing to bet that you don't know a fricking thing about the guy.

I may be wrong, but I think he means recruiting the state of Louisiana should be a given for LSU.
Louisiana kids go to LSU. That's a given.
