I say probably not. If he's successful he gets the NFL itch again. If he sets the ship right and wins a title or two he'll have done his job and I'll wish him bon voyage.

No chance in Oxford that happens

1. Lane already scratched that itch and it ended miserably (ironically with JaMarcus Russell as his signal caller ))

2. Saban's one of Lane's biggest mentors and has made it known leaving LSU for the NFL was his biggest mistake professionally.

Lane knows the legacy he can build here and once he gets this thing humming, and it wont take long, I think he'll be locked in for the long haul

I like your words, but that’s all just a projected hope. But with him being 50, I can see him wanting this to be his last stop of his career and making something lasting while not having to deal with the whiny arse emotions of the fans and the media.

LSU will keep him at or near the top in salary and NIL if he’s as successful as we think he will be, but all that said, there is no way to safely predict what he will do five years down the line with the pattern he has established.

I think he would stay at LSU, if he’s as successful as we’re hoping. Saban being his mentor helps with that. One of his protégés potentially duplicating his success at the program he never should have left.

Lane has had his eye on LSU for years.

He won’t leave for another CFB program, and I doubt the NFL interests him at this point. He has a chance to be here for 10 years and retire on his terms with multiple nattys

Big difference in Nick and Lane is that Monte coached in the NFL for a long time. I could definitely see Lane wanting to follow his Dad's footsteps. I could also see him being content to stay in college and have success.
