Guys, I need help. I know absolutely nothing about gaming laptops. My son wants a gaming laptop/pc so he can play a few games but mostly he is obsessed on wanting to play a game Cities Skylines II. He has the first one on PS5 and the second one has been delayed coming out on console for 2 years now. I was thinking about getting him a gaming laptop for Christmas so he play it at my house and take it to his mom’s house when he is over there. Trying to find something under $1,000 (if possible). Here are the min and recommended requirements for the game.
Any advice and recommendations?

Unfortunately, that game particularly runs like complete shite on PC even with decent hardware, which is probably a big reason why it hasn’t come to console yet.
As far as recommendations, you’d ideally get some kind of machine that has 12gb of vram, but you won’t find that for under $1,000

Yeah, to read the reviews for Cities Skylines 2 and then stick with the first one

Wait another few months and get yourself a steam machine.

Core count is too low there for a good end game experience with most Paradox titles that are in the 4x, grand strategy, or city building genres. This is especially the case with cities 2.

I'm on my second Lenovo Legion. Current setup has a 5070 with 32gb of ram. Runs everything I play very well. Some decent deals going around right now.

This is where I go to purchase gaming laptops.
I Buy Power
I think I am on my third one now, gaming takes a toll on them due to power requirements to run them and the heat generated by this.
I once purchased an Alien Ware desktop from Dell and sent it right back after trying it, it was so loud, like jet engine loud.
I probably spend in the $1500 range for one, I prefer a 17" screen and a good video card.
Good luck.
