This should have been a massive blowout. We got up over 20 more shots than them and dominated the boards. I'm glad we won, but a lot of troubling signs in a game like this, where everything was so overwhelmingly in our favor.

We have to start shooting more 3s. I'll admit I am late to the game on this. But we have to be shooting 40 a game, especially when we get over 100 shots. I guess 40% of your shots being 3s is a solid minimum. Otherwise teams are going to hang close, and sneak wins when they are launching over 50% of their shots from 3 (and making 40% of them)..

Yup, we need to add two more volume 3 point shooters to go with Trey and Poole. Trade Herb to GS for Moody, then maybe bring Matt Ryan back or something

We definitely need 2-3 more shooters. I don't think the Warriors are dumb enough to make that trade. But if so, I'd be all over that. Maybe even throw in some 2nds or something to convince them.

Also, Zion needs to start shooting 3-4 a game at least. He has multiple times a game he is standing at the line wide open. Instead of shooting, he gives it up or drives at multiple people. Even if he's only shooting 25%, teams will have to adjust. But we can't hang a primary wing that doesn't shoot at all..

He also needs to spot TF up and ask for the ball after setting a pick. When Z sets a pick around the top of the key defenders completely collapse and he's literally wide open every time. If there is no space for a roll he will just hover around the circle behind the FT line. Literally the last effective spot to be in after a pick. Why not just back up to the 3pt elbow or top of the key. He's gonna be wide open every time.

I also notice that when he is in a spot up position, teammates don't even look his way. That's something that has to be coached God dammit. Id be telling/teaching Zion how to pop and telling the team to get it to him when the D collapses. I need 2 of those per game.

Yep, Herb is an indispensible glue guy for a championship-contending team, not a basement dweller. I have no problems trading him, particularly while he still has value.

I'm actually going the other way on this for the Pels, at least based on how we are built right now.

The Rockets, Raptors, Pistons and Lakers all shoot fewer 3-pointers than we do, yet they score at a high rate.

Last night was our model--play with pace, get up a higher number of overall shots and, for god's sake, hit your free throws.

Do that, and I think we're ok attempting 30-35 three-pointers a night assuming we can make them at 33% or more.

With Zion, Queen, Fears, we are built more to score in the paint + get to the line. You still have to get up--and make--a decent number of 3 pointers, but you don't have to force yourself up to 40+ a night when you're not built for it. You can win in other ways, including defending your own 3-point line a lot better and stopping penetration of the lane.
