It’s not just Hawaii that is effectively banning public carry. California, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York have similar laws. So a win in this case will restore Second Amendment rights for millions of Americans.

That is why, more than six months ago, my Justice Department took the unprecedented step of filing a brief in this Second Amendment case urging the Supreme Court to accept it for review.

As I said soon after taking office, the Second Amendment is not a second-class right. My Justice Department will continue to be the most pro-Second Amendment Justice Department in history.
