I want to build a guitar speaker cab, but don't really know that much about the speakers.

It needs to be 4 ohms. I can build the cabinet just fine for whatever I can do, as far the speakers allow.
Anyhow, Jensen makes these 4 ohm 12" speakers

I would like to have 2 of those together.
Will it still be 4 ohms with them together? Or would it double to 8 ohms?

In series, two four ohm speakers result in an 8 ohm load.
In parallel, they become a 2 ohm load.
Consider two eight ohm speakers in parallel for 4 ohms.

Thank you. That would give me a lot of speaker options.
I'll look at this.

I think you would use 4 16 ohm speakers to get it to 4 ohms.

I wish I had paid more attention to this type of stuff before now.

Look into Celestion V30s. 2 of them (8ohms) wired in parallel will equal 4 ohms. If you do go that route, make sure they are the made in UK versions. They were made in China for some time and were sub standard. I got mine on Sweetwater, they are UK made.

I don’t know for sure how it works with building but i know the numbers work backwards when matching heads and cabs.
800 watt 4 ohm head
You can run:
1 8 ohm cab at 400 watts
2 8 ohm or 1 4 ohm at 800 watts
