Brady Quinn: "Utah is not a playoff team"

"I know they still have a chance, but they don't have any quality wins".

The question that really matters is how is their run game.

They just gave up 472 rushing yards to K-State

That doesn’t matter along with top 25 wins, SOS or other advanced analytics according to the committee chair.
The deciding factor according to his own words is how your offensive run game stacks up to other CFP caliber teams.

I thought the irony of this was that he’s talking about #12 Utah (9-2) while his #9 ND (9-2) is the exact same.
Apparently those “close” losses really mean a lot, but he wants to talk about quality wins.
ND beat #19 USC (8-3) by 10 & #24 Pitt (8-3) by 22
Utah beat Arizona State (8-3) by 32 & Cincinnati (7-4) by 31. At the time, ASU was ranked #21 & Cincinnati was #17

Utah clearly needs help. A bunch of SEC teams need to lose and probably lose convincingly. Even then, the ACC might sneak in Miami ahead of them.

You and JimTiger get the point I was making.

I don’t think ND matters to Bama outside of seeding with a win vs AU and loss to A&M in ATL.
The point is and remains that the CFP year after year does whatever it feels like and makes up excuses afterwards, the vast majority of which range from questionable to laughable.
Theres no consistency, no set methodology and no evidence the people involved have any idea what the hell they’re doing.

I wish they would just get rid of the CFP committee and use the BCS formula to rank and seed the playoff teams.

Its been posted every week on Twitter. Almost identical to the committee rankings.

We've done the SEC "eye test" thing for decades. At what point does Notre Dame not pass this "eye test"?

You guys realize every time you try and shite on a team from a different conference w/a stat like this all anyone has to say is "Alabama got blown out by the 15th place team in the ACC" right?

Apple to Oranges. SEC teams aren't "passing the eye test" by beating up scrubs, which is exactly what Notre Dame is doing.
I think ND is a good football team, but I don't really know that because they're 0-2 against other good football teams. At the end of the day I think they are one of the 12 best teams in the country, so I won't have much issue when they make the field. Having them seeded over Alabama with 4 top 25 wins and per the committees own rankings, the best win in the country @ Georgia, doesn't make any sense. Is Notre Dame 8-2 with Alabama's schedule? Maybe, but I have my doubts. On the flip side of that, there's a good chance that Bama is still 8-2 with Notre Dame's schedule with the same losses. Would Bama be ranked ahead of Notre Dame if the resume's were flipped? No chance

Ae you really trying to say there is more media bias in favor of Notre Dame than there is for Bama?
Posted on 11/24/25 at 12:02 pm to Riseupfromtherubble
So you really do think ND takes priority over Bama in the media. Oof.

ND overwhelmingly passes the "eye test." Its the resume everyone is hung up on. Almost every computer ranking out there actually has them in the top 5.
