Knox High School senior running back Myles McLaughlin needed just 364 yards to dethrone Derrick Henry as U.S. high school football's all-time leading rusher. It was not to be, however, as he was held to just 78 yards in a 35-0 defeat at the hands of Fort Wayne Bishop Luers in the Indiana 3A state semifinals. McLaughlin had been averaging 367 yards per game prior to Friday night's game.

Derrick Henry rushed for 12,124 yards at Yulee High School in Florida from 2009-2012 - breaking a national high school rushing record that had been set by Sugar Land (TX) High School's Ken Hall all the way back in 1953.

Ken Hall, the “Sugar Land Express”, passed away earlier this year at the age of 89.
