After watching him in a few games last year, I thought he was the run-pass QB we needed for next year!

I was wrong - DEAD WRONG!

I would rather watch paint dry all day than watch him play QB!

As bad as he was, that QB for WKU was impressive and I think someone is going to grab him for next year. Considering he was a true freshman with only 4 games starting experience, he didn't look that bad.

As for MVB, he was awful!

Same.

I didn't think he was our dude, but I thought he would be better than Nuss considering our OLine.

I take it back.

I wasn’t. I said he was the backup for a reason.

The fact that we have gone the whole season without scoring over 25 points in a game against an FBS opponent shows you how bad the entire offense is. Worst OL in my lifetime and it isn't close. WRs and TEs not much better.

I was never a MVB pusher to start but to get reps. Maybe that would have helped?

The worst part was seeing WRs running wide open and he would skip the ball a yard in front of them!

Maybe, just maybe the coaches LSU pays and sees the daily practices know whom is better than who.

He would not run when it was available last night. I was thinking maybe the coaches told him not to since we had no Nuss and no Hurley. It was odd and frustrating to watch.

If that's the best backup QB LSU has, then they need to clean house and scour the smaller schools and find someone that has a pulse. It worked for Vandy and Ole Miss!

I'm not convinced all the players are this bad. I'd like to see them with a coach who isnt ghosting his own team.

Why did you think he was a running qb?!?

Compared to Nuss, anyone is a running QB. He can run pretty good, but it's not like he was a huge runner at State.

There is a reason he wasn't our starter

I still don’t get that line of thinking. Nussmeier definitely isn’t a runner so anyone else is? Sigh…

You thought the QB getting backup reps the entire year was going to come in w/ no coach and offensive coordinator and somehow light the world on fire? My god yall are psychos

He already has more runs on the year than Nuss had the entire year (which is hard to believe because Nuss started 9 games for us). I think fans just wanted to see a QB who would run with this atrocious OL. And he has had some nice runs including a 30+ yarder in crunch time last week. But to be honest, he needs to run more. There were a few times last night when he could have taken off and gotten easy yards vs. a pass into coverage.

But to the point made, Nuss isn’t a runner. Are you aware if Van Buren”s stats coming into the year??? Because he’s got rhythm doesn’t mean he’s a running qb. This is the point I am trying to make.
