What is LSU's confidence based on?

This is an honest question. Here's the thoughts
A week ago, Florida was super confident. Insiders, boosters, and their admin were sure they had a done deal. It didnt happen.
So what is different about that than LSU's confidence. Nothing has been signed because Lane, as a state employee, would have to resign at Ole Miss first. So what is the confidence based on.
I'm still leaning that Kiffin is an anomaly and nobody really knows what that strange guy will end up doing.

I think It's been confirmed that this was because of the family visit (it was just Knox and Layla)
Also, when LSU, Ole Miss, and National writers all think it's trending LSU's way then there's reason to believe
